Even as the rainy season intensifies, the flood mitigation works continue. In the community Fresh Pond in the Burrell Boom Area, NEMO equipment, under the supervision of Village Council Chair Lady Earlene Baptist, is clearing and digging drains to facilitate the flow of water and minimize the possibility of flooding. Similar works are being done in other parts of the village, throughout the Belize District and around the country. With Minister of National Emergency Management Hon Edmond Castro and NEMO, work has no season.
