NEMO Conducts Training in Partnership with United Nation’s Emergency Task Team

The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), in partnership with the United Nations’ Emergency Task Team (UNETT) in Belize, is conducting a three-day training covering various aspects of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Emergency Management from today, Tuesday, July 24 to Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Dream Valley Belize in Teakettle Village, Cayo District.

Areas covered in the first two days (today and tomorrow) include the basics of gender equality in the context of Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change adaption in the execution of Emergency Management duties, Emergency Care for the vulnerable in times of disaster. On Thursday, the training will focus on Damage Assessment and Needs Analysis (DANA) aimed at improving capacity in providing sector reports as part and parcel of the national report to meet international standard.The training is being attended by members of NEMO’s National and District Committees, and by other relevant stakeholders.
