NEMO RELIEF SUPPLIES FOR FIRE VICTIMS IN SAN PEDRO

As fire victims in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, tried to restore normalcy to their lives, NEMO supplies arrived on the island by barge on Tuesday, August 7. The supplies included mattresses, stoves, butane tanks, food and hygiene kits.Most of the 87 persons affected by the fire which destroyed 10 buildings were being sheltered at Hope Haven Children Shelter & Community Center where they were receiving daily meals and other necessities such as clothing.

The NEMO supplies were delivered on Tuesday by Mayor Danny Guerrero along with NEMO Regional Coordinator Al Westby and Belize Rural South Coordinator Vanessa Parham.NEMO Minister Hon Edmond Castro and Area Representative Hon Manuel Heredia had visited the victims last Saturday morning, shortly after the devastating blaze and assured them that further assistance was on the way in the form of humanitarian relief supplies.
