As part of NEMO’s continuing public education program, a presentation was made on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 to students of the Upper Division at St Therese Roman Catholic Primary School in Burrell Boom.The presentation focused on Disaster Management, specifically Hurricane/Tropical Storm and Tsunami. Students were educated on the importance of having a Family Emergency Plan that can be activated in the event of a natural disaster threat, and they were given a special assignment to assist their parents in formulating such a family plan. Presenters were NEMO Coordinator Alphius Gillett and Assistant Coordinator Jacqueline Casasola.
Similar presentations have been made, and will continue to be made in other schools throughout the area.
